IMPORTANT! Slovenia will have a long May Day break in the 2026-2027 school year. The Slovenian Ministry of Education has cancelled school classes on Monday, April 26. This means that children will have a break from Saturday, April 24, through Sunday, May 2, 2027.
Public holidays and days off in Slovenia in the 2026-2027 academic year
In addition to school holidays, students have time off on certain holidays and official non-working days. In the Republic of Slovenia, days off are not always associated with public holidays. For example, Easter Monday is an official day off, but not a public holiday. Sometimes the opposite is true, for example, there is no day off on the public holiday Sovereignty Day.
