School holidays in Poland 2025-2026
This section provides school holidays in Poland 2025-2026. All dates are as published on the official government website. Please note that some holiday periods start on Monday. But before them there are Saturday and Sunday, when schools are also closed.
IMPORTANT! Please note that winter school holidays occur on different dates. It all depends on which voivodeship of the Republic the school is in. The dates of all other school holidays are the same for all schools in the country.
- Summer holidays 2025: from June 28 (Saturday) to August 31 (Sunday) 2025.
- Christmas holidays: from December 22 (Monday) to December 31 (Wednesday) 2025 (possibly to January 6 (Tuesday) 2026, see explanation below).
Winter holidays
- from January 19 (Monday) to February 1 (Sunday) 2026 – Masovian, Pomeranian, Podlaskie, Świętokrzyskie, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
- from February 2 (Monday) to February 15 (Sunday) 2026 — Lower Silesian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lodz, West Pomeranian, Lesser Poland, Opole Voivodeships.
- from February 16 (Monday) to March 1 (Sunday) 2026 – Subcarpathian, Lublin, Greater Poland, Lubusz, Silesian Voivodeships.
Other school holidays in Poland for the 2025-2026 academic year:
- Spring Break (Easter Break): April 2 (Thursday) to April 7 (Tuesday), 2026.
- Summer holidays 2026: from June 27 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday) 2026.
IMPORTANT! Schools may choose to observe New Year holidays after the Christmas holidays. If this is decided, the school will be closed from Thursday 1 January (New Year’s holiday) to Tuesday 6 January (Three Kings holiday). Accordingly, the Christmas holidays will run from Monday 22 December 2025 to Tuesday 6 January 2026.
Days off from classes in the 2025-2026 academic year
Below are the holidays and possible days off in the Republic of Poland in the 2025-2026 academic year. After the list you will find brief explanations of them.
- October 14 (Tuesday) 2025 – National Education Day (in some schools).
- November 1 (Saturday) 2025 – All Saints’ Day.
- November 10 (Monday) 2025 – Monday before National Independence Day (in some schools).
- November 11 (Tuesday) 2025 – National Independence Day.
- January 1 (Thursday) 2026 – New Year.
- January 6 (Tuesday) 2026 – Three Kings Festival.
- May 1 (Friday) 2026 – Labor Day.
- May 3 (Sunday) 2026 – Constitution Day May 3.
- June 4 (Thursday) 2026 – Corpus Christi Feast.
- June 5, 2026 (Friday) – Friday after Corpus Christi.
National Education Day. Schools may hold full classes, or only ceremonial events and assemblies. There may also be a complete cancellation of school classes. The decision on this is made by the school principal.
National Independence Day. In the 2025-2026 school year, it falls on a Tuesday. Some schools may provide a day off on Monday, November 10. Accordingly, there will be no classes for four days, from Saturday to Tuesday.
Corpus Christi. Traditionally, this holiday falls on a Thursday and schools are closed on this day. Some schools make Friday a principal’s day so that children and teachers can rest for four days in a row.
