You’ll also find a list of official public holidays during the 2026/27 school year and local holidays in major Portuguese cities.
School holidays 2026-2027 in Portugal
Below are the official dates for Portuguese school holidays for the 2026-2027 academic year. Unlike some European countries, these dates are not dependent on the school’s location. For convenience, we’ve divided them into three tables.
IMPORTANT ! The start date of summer holidays depends on the grade you or your child is in. Please contact your school to confirm the end and start dates of summer holidays. The table below shows the date range established by Order No. 8368/2024 of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation of the Portuguese Republic.
